Morning Prayer with the Oblate Family: Thursday June 23rd With Fr Tom Devereux OMI
Good morning friends, today we join Fr Tom Devereux OMI, from the Sacred Heart parish in Kilburn, London.
Today we celebrate the Feast of the birth of Saint John the Baptist. The Gospel reading from Luke today is about the birth of Elizabeth’s child, John. There was great rejoicing at the birth of John, because it was thought that his parents were too old; they were blessed by God for their perseverance. The birth of John is an example of how the Lord can do great things for us, in ways that we do not expect and which can be hidden from our eyes at the time. Let us thank him for all the things that he has done for us.
Thank you for joining us today.
