Morning Prayer
Morning Prayer with the Oblates, December 17th With Fr Irvin Morastil
Good morning everyone, and welcome to Morning Prayer with the Oblate family! Today’s video comes to you from Fr Irvin Morastil, who recently moved from Edinburgh to London.
Today’s Gospel reading is from the book of Matthew, and recounts the genealogy of Jesus. Just like Jesus, we, too, are the product of our own genealogy. And just as some of the names in Christ’s lineage will have been more holy and notable than others, so too will some of the names in our own history. Likewise, others will have seemed to have lived quiet, seemingly unremarkable lives when not taking the bigger picture into context. What this tells us is that though we may not be able to see it with our limited experience and knowledge, God is working in each of us through history. His grace works in everyone and his plans are far bigger than any of us can imagine.
Thank you for joining us today. Have a blessed Saturday!
