Oblate Family Morning Prayer: December 27th, Feast of Saint John With Bobby Neill
Good morning dear friends. You are very welcome to this Oblate morning prayer on the feast of Saint John, December 27th.
For Christmas week, we join some members the Oblate Parishes of Inchicore/Bluebell for morning prayer. Today, we join Bobby Neill in Inchicore for this morning’s prayer.
In today’s gospel, the swaddling clothes that Mary wrapped Jesus in on the first Christmas morning were replaced by the linen cloths that he was wrapped in after he was taken down by the cross – the contrast between Christmas and Easter, the contrasts in our today’s world. The message of Christmas was peace on earth to men of goodwill. And yet we suffer bereavement. We see wars right around the world, famines and floods.
Lead us Lord from darkness to light. Lead us from sadness to joy. Lead us from death to immortality. Glory to God who has shown us the light.
Thank you for joining us today.
