Summary of the Oblate Lay Associate Team Presentation to the 37th General Chapter An update from the Province OLAC Team
When we last updated you (in August), we said that we would be back to you with a further update “by the end of the summer.” We didn’t quite make that deadline that we set for ourselves! And we’re sorry about that! Having said that, the lack of an update to you does not indicate that there has been a lack of activity, far from it!
OLAC Team presents to 37th General Chapter
In September, the General Chapter of the Oblates took place in Rome. One of the consequences of the Lay Associations Congress in May is that a group drawn from the preparatory teams in the five regions, was invited to present to the General Chapter. Pauline Thomas from Anglesey was invited and she represented our region, the Anglo-Irish Province. Pauline joined with the other lay members of the team in Rome to prepare their report for the Chapter and present it. They presented their report to the General Chapter on Saturday, September 17.
Pauline has drafted a summary of the report that she, along with other members of the lay team, presented at the Chapter in Rome. The document is available to you by clicking here to view and download the “Summary of Oblate Lay Associates Team Presentation at 37th Chapter 2022”. The full report (c. nine pages long) is also available. Just contact us and we’ll get a copy to you.

The abridged report is provided now to keep you informed and to share with you the actions that are being taken as a result of the Congress in May.
The Province team of Pauline Thomas, Mary Tyrrell, Kirk Jacob and myself, led by our Provincial, Fr Oliver Barry, is committed to your continued participation and we will continue to communicate with you as plans evolve.
